Fall 2024 Design Trends
Are you dreaming of fall, yet? Every year, when the summer season wraps up, we start to see new design trends come to the surface and it can be so hard to know which trends are here to stay, and which are a flash in the pan! I’ve spent some time curating a list of the top trends coming this fall that will make your home feel luxurious and cozy for years to come!
1. Deep Tones
We’ve seen deep color tones become more and more prevalent through the year so far, and that’s certainly not changing this fall! I’m talking about chocolate brown, warm grey, forest green, deep red, etc. While these tones may initially seem like a bold color choice for an interior space, they can actually create beautifully moody and dramatic spaces. When used correctly, these colors will evoke feelings of luxury and restoration.
2. Soft Neutral Colors
Another trend revolving around color! But are you surprised? Color is one of the most powerful aspects of design. Soft neutrals, particularly warm tones, will continue to be a trend through the fall of 2024 and we’ll see less of the stark whites that have been trending in the last few years.
These neutral colors can be used monochromatically to create a soft and calm atmosphere, while brighter neutrals create a more stark and overwhelming vibe in the same application. Soft neutrals also pair really well with statement art pieces and pops of color throughout your home!
3. Timeless Details
As we’ve recently seen in the fashion world, timeless details will be a significant design element in our interiors this fall. For example, the terms “old money,” “quiet luxury,” “coastal grandma,” and “grandmillenial” have all been used to direct fashion and home trends toward classic, timeless styles.
So, why does it matter? Timeless pieces, from fixtures to furniture and accessories, ensure that your space will look beautiful and elegant regardless of trends that are constantly coming and going. A few things that continue to stand the test of time in interiors that we’re looking forward to seeing more of this fall include neutral bedding, marble furniture and accessories, and plaid or striped upholstery!
4. Layered Texture
Warm and cozy textures are a recurring trend each fall and this year is no different… we can still look forward to the chunky wools and velvets that really make us feel like summer is a thing of the past! In addition to our fall fabrics, we’re also looking forward to seeing texture layered in other ways. This could look like white plaster accessories on a wooden dining table, or a perforated metal light fixture in an otherwise gentle room. There are infinite opportunities when layering textures. This is such a simple, yet effective, way to keep your interiors feeling updated and personalized!
People often underestimate how challenging it can be to design your home to be timeless, while still allowing yourself to lean into trends every once and a while! If you find yourself needing help, reach out! We’d love to help point you in the right direction.
